UBH Care Center
University Behavioral Health of El Paso offers free mental health and chemical dependency assessment and referral services for children, adolescents, adults, and seniors. If treatment is advised, we can assist with admission to a UBH program or recommend other treatment options in the community.
The Care Center clinical staff is available 24 hours a day, seven days a week to respond to calls. Private and confidential assessments and referral information are provided at no charge.

Patients can be referred to UBH by outpatient therapists, primary care physicians, mental health providers, emergency rooms, doctors, case managers, employee assistance programs, family members, community agencies, clergy, friends and patients themselves.
When calling the UBH Care Center to refer someone for a free
assessment or hospital admission, please provide the following information so that we can best serve the patient.
- Patient’s name, date of birth, social security number, address, phone number, and insurance information.
- Your name, relationship to the patient, and phone number.
- A brief description of the patient’s problem and why you are making the referral.
The Care Center works rapidly to complete the admission process; however, it may take longer depending upon the insurance company's requirements.
If you refer a patient to our program, you can be assured that you will receive individualized communication from the treatment team to ensure full coordination of care.
